A kitchen workhorse for all your low-and-slow needs, the HexClad Oval Dutch Oven makes cooking longer cuts of meat, braises and stews foolproof. Some of us love an oval Dutch oven’s aesthetics, and how it makes your famous roast chicken, brisket or mussels look, from oven to trivet. Others appreciate that its oval shape offers more room for airflow and a more even cook around longer cuts such as pork tenderloin. Its 6.5-quart size is slightly larger than our original Dutch oven (think: more leftovers) but features all the same durability and reliable temperature control. Our patented Hybrid technology and the pot’s relatively light weight–a fraction of cast-iron competitors–make it easy to sear meat on the stove for a beautiful crust, then finish it in the oven for a meltingly tender finish.

Chloe D. ★★★★★

The heavy lid fits so snugly that I barely had to add any extra liquid to my pot roast, and the oval shape handled a whole chuck roast perfectly. It’s really kept the heat steady on my stovetop, and the cleanup was simple with just a quick soak.

Brian ★★★★★

This oval shape was perfect for fitting a pork shoulder without overcrowding, and the lid fit snugly enough that I didn’t need to add extra liquid. The even heat distribution meant no scorching on the bottom, which I’ve struggled with before.

Sophia ★★★★★

I braised a full chicken in here last night and the oval shape let it lie flat without crowding—the heat distribution was so even, I didn’t have to stir once. Cleanup was a breeze with just a quick soak, too.

Victoria ★★★★★

I can finally fit a whole pork shoulder in here without cutting it in half—the 6.5-quart oval is a real game-changer for braising. The even heat distribution meant every bit of meat came out tender with zero scorching on the bottom.

Hazel ★★★★★

Finally, an oval dutch oven that fits a whole chuck roast without bending the ends. The lid fits so snugly I barely had to add any water for a five-hour braise. It’s hefty but not impossible to lift even when full.

Ella ★★★★★

I was nervous about the oval shape taking up too much space, but it actually fits my longest ribs perfectly without crowding. The heat distribution is incredibly even for braising—the first batch of short ribs came out fall-apart tender.

Richard E. ★★★★★

Finally, an oval Dutch oven that doesn't crowd my short ribs—the 6.5-quart capacity fits a whole brisket flat perfectly. The low-and-slow braising is dead simple, and cleanup is a breeze with the smooth interior.

This oval shape fits a whole chuck roast perfectly, and the even heat distribution meant no scorching on the bottom. Cleanup was surprisingly easy with just a quick soak.

Edward U. ★★★★★

I was skeptical about spending this much on a pot, but the oval shape is perfect for my whole chuck roast without crowding. The lid seals so tightly that my stew came out incredibly tender after just a few hours on low.

Abigail ★★★★★

The lid fits so snugly that barely any steam escapes, which made the best pot roast I’ve had in years. Cleanup was a breeze too—just a quick wipe and it looked good as new.
